Pact is currently looking for a Full-time (80 hours per fortnight), Service Coordinator to oversee our Mental Health Community Team in Wellington
The Role
Pact is looking for a driven and organised person to manage our Community Mental Health team and our Fetu ola service, and to mentor Support Workers who want to help our clients with intellectual disabilities live happy, fulfilling lives.
By putting clinical recommendations into practise, allocating daily staffing resources, coordinating activities on-site and in the community, building community networks and partnerships, directing staff, and managing performance, the job will facilitate client assistance. Prioritization and effective time management abilities are critical. You will help the service users achieve the greatest level of independence in this role, which places a heavy emphasis on client goals and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Engaging with clients.
- Overseeing a team of support workers
- Directing and leading staff
- Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
- Allocating daily staffing resources
- Encouraging client participation in day to day life
- Supporting them with activities of daily living
- Ensuring support with medication and considering client needs
- Supporting clients with personal hygiene.
- Supporting social and whanau connection
- Motivating clients to know they have purpose
At present, hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
This is an exciting opportunity for a person with an optimistic ‘can do’ attitude. In this role you would be expected to personally model the required standards of care and support and ensure that clinical recommendations, policies and procedures are adhered to.
Previous leadership experience is preferable as you will need to be able to lead, support and mentor a team of support workers. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and networking skills and be able to build and sustain working relationships with clients, staff and external agencies.
- A NZ certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent
- A full driver's licence as you will be expected to drive clients when needed
- Computer skills are essential
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
